Peggy Sirota

THE PEGASUS

Peggy Sirota taught herself how to use a camera while working at Fred Segal in Hollywood. Shooting headshots for her actor/model coworkers to make a little extra money, she fell in love with shooting and her career as a photographer was born. Sirota is known for creating evocative, authentic, emotional images which instantly connect you with her subject. Vulnerable portraits, a feminine connection to beauty, and a playful sense of humor are at the core of her work.

Peggy has photographed many iconic personalities, and her portraits have graced the covers and pages of GQ, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Esquire, Interview, ESPN, Vogue Italia, and many more. She has worked on campaigns for Apple, Nike, GAP, Adidas, L’Oreal, CoverGirl, Clairol, Dove, Clinique, Olay, Disney, Microsoft, T-Mobile, Sony, Zegna, Barneys, Banana Republic, Roxy, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Old Navy, Motorola, Patek Philippe, Toyota, Lincoln, Infinity, amongst many others.

Her iconic Volvo ad campaign garnered much attention for its first of its kind integration of lifestyle imagery into automotive advertising. She has directed for clients such as MasterCard, Amazon, L’Oreal, CoverGirl, American Airlines, Target, AT&T, Stetson, NASCAR, Acura, Chrysler, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Kellogg’s, Verizon, Pantene, Dial, Coca-Cola, Kraft, Garnier, General Motors, Levi’s, Macy’s, and the widely celebrated Banana Republic and Clinique Happy spots.

Peggy’s first book GUESS WHO? was published in 2000 by Steidl. An interactive book of celebrity-in-disguise portraits, Sirota challenges the reader to decipher the identity of her subjects with all profits going to AIDS Project LA.

Peggy’s extensive background in dance has deeply influenced all of her work. A love of movement and an instinctual awareness of body language is always at the core of her visual recipe.
